Cassie stopped and took a sip of her wine. She and Sue exchanged another look that none of the others could read.

Finally, she went on. “I don’t know if she expected me to take a swing at her—the fool certainly should have. She should’ve run like hell. My fist caught her right in the nose, and I remember she staggered backwards. Then she came at me. Her first punch split my lip and then, boy howdy, it was on! It was your typical girl fight after those first few blows. We knocked the cart with the food on it completely over. We were on the floor rolling, kicking, scratching, biting, head butting and hair pulling. Part of me wishes I had a video of the whole thing. I know we were a sight to behold.”

Cassie chuckled. “Can you just picture what the guys walked, or rather ran in on? Tom was grabbing for me and Steve tried to get to Sue, but we weren’t quite ready to give up the fight. I’d been in my share of brawls during my time on my own. I’d learned quickly not to stop fighting until your opponent isn’t moving. When Tom tried to pull me away, the only thing that registered in my mind was that someone was trying to stop me. And that meant it was an enemy. So I slammed my head back into his face—I had no idea at the moment that it was Tom. That’s how I, unfortunately, managed to give him a bloody nose in the process.

“He got me locked in a bear hug, and by hearing him say my name over and over, it finally penetrated my brain who had hold of me. Steve was helping Sue to her feet. She did look rough. Her blouse was ripped off, blood was running down from her shoulder and dripping from the back of her ear as well. Her face was bloody, both from her lip and her nose, which was badly swollen.

“I’d fared little better,” Cassie admitted. “My cheek was split open over my cheekbone. I think it was her ring that cut me. My mouth and nose were also dripping blood. One earring had been torn through my ear, which added to the blood-spattered scene. Even Tom was bleeding as we stood there, all of us in shock. It seemed quiet for a moment; all you could hear was Sue and me breathing heavily.

Then Steve asked, ‘What the hell?’ Tom seemed at a loss for words.

About PK Corey

I’ve been intrigued by spanking stories since before I first saw Ricky spank Lucy. Stories of this nature were hard to come by before the Internet and the ones I found were a little harsh on discipline and very much lacking in love. So, I made up my own stories and enjoyed these in my head for years. I finally began writing them down. Although the lovely women in my stories are spanked often, the love between them and their men is the most vital part of their lives together.

I don’t think of myself as a writer so much as a storyteller. I don’t churn out books nearly as fast as perhaps my readers would like. My stories are told to me by my characters and I pass them along. I write what I’ve always wanted to read about – dominant men, strong women, intense love and loyal friendships.

My Cassie’s Space series is about a mature couple who are deeply in love. Despite adoring Cassie’s free-spirited ways, Tom is determined to keep her safe, even if it takes a trip over his knee to do it. And with her friend and accomplice Sue by her side, a trip over his knee is very likely. The Cal’s Law series is about a younger couple. Though from very different backgrounds, Cal and Jenny are drawn together by love and discipline. And my newest book, On the River, combines all my characters as they go about their lives on The Landing.

I was a school teacher most of my adult life. Now retired, I love having the time to write. I share a fulfilled life with my wonderful husband and my cat, Sophie. My adult children come around enough to keep us satisfied. Besides writing I spend my time reading and designing and unique, hand-drawing bookmarks. And I delight in hearing from my readers. Some Positives in 2020

2020 is gone but there were highlights… Thought I’d mention mine in order to make you think about yours!

Had some books come out – Rth Home in February, A New Time in April, Hazardous to the Touch in September, and Christmas Cookies in November. Fewer interruptions helped there.

We went to Disney World with our grandson in March, just before the world screeched to a halt, so our timing was good. He turned 5, so this was a birthday trip for him, his dad and his Granddar. Had a wonderful time!

We also welcomed a second grandson this year – see there were some great positives – and we’re thrilled with all our boys.

The wedding that was planned for September was postponed, but I already have my dress, so I have to maintain my weight for another year. Good incentive, right?

Yes there were changes, I got quite proficient at Zoom and have a minimal commute to my exercise classes, but I kept them up! You can also do Weight Watcher meetings this way, which I did. One of the things I’m proud of is getting some old projects (both writing and my counted cross stitch) done – remember no snacking!

The Conall Clan saga continues… And check out the incredible new covers!

Excerpt –

So, this was Sweetwater. Home of the famous Conall boys. It didn’t look like much. Why in all hell would a Territory Alpha—one as strong as this Lou Conall was purported to be—pick a backwater hole like this for his headquarters?

He might be foolish coming here. Regardless, curiosity had won out. Adrian, the old sot, had been drunker than he’d ever seen him when he confessed his secret past. He probably wouldn’t live long enough to regret the lapse. Surely cirrhosis would get that last surviving liver cell soon.

Axel didn’t care much either way. He wouldn’t be going back. If Adrian drank himself to death, fine. Any affection he might have felt for the old man was a distant memory. Adrian had beaten it out of him years ago. Only bad memories remained. Although Axel had never understood the beatings, this new information made things clearer.

He hadn’t emerged Alpha or Beta–not like Adrian’s other sons.

Maybe every father wanted that. Axel wouldn’t know. He had no cubs and liked it that way. So what if his father was disappointed in him. The feeling was mutual, besides when was Adrian ever sober enough to know?

Axel made his way back to his beater of a car and crawled into the backseat. It wasn’t comfortable but funds for a room were lean and this was warmer than sleeping in the woods. Anyway, he wasn’t ready to make his presence known yet. This would do until he finalized his plans.

The Earl’s Treasurer – Nancy Lee Badger

After Stone is wounded and thrust into an earldom, and Adele is widowed by an abusive husband, these star-crossed childhood friends meet at an English country ball, escape a kidnapper searching for a mysterious treasure, and depart for Scotland ahead of those intent on killing anyone in their way.

I have officially released my long-awaited book The Earl’s Treasure. The pandemic made so many things grind to a halt, though hubby and I managed a week on the beach curtesy of a relative’s time share unit. I decided I had to release the book now to get my readers through the holiday season with laughter, suspense, and romance. Even though I do not consider it a Christmas novel, it takes place in the weeks before Christmas Eve.

This is my 30th romance and having it set partially in Scotland is due to my love of that country. I have volunteered at the New Hampshire Highlands Games for over 25 years with family, but only recently discovered I am partially of Scottish descent. Ever since I wrote a book called Dragon’s Curse many years ago, the urge to write other Scottish historical paranormal novels grew. This book is not a paranormal. Instead, it is a spicy romance based upon a mysterious treasure that takes my characters from England, to Gretna Green, and beyond.

Excerpt from The Earl’s Treasure

Rounding a curve in the hillside, he spotted a thicket of dried heather and not the gorse bushes with their claw-like branches. Working his way higher, he pulled himself onto the road. Or, what passed for a road. It looked more like a slickened spillway, with mud-filled ruts, and icy edges. Up ahead he spied Satan lying on his side. “Not good.”

He loved his stallion.

The beast had saved his life during more battles than Stone cared to count. He thought nothing could hurt him more than the death of that special friend, until he perceived the splintered coach.

“Adele!” No answer, so he ran closer.

“Adele! Answer me, lass!” Still no answer.

When he reached Satan, the stallion raised his head. Stone untied him from the damaged coach, and the beast got to his feet. He couldn’t see any obvious injuries, but the icy pellets distorted his vision. If the animal was fine, he and Adele had a way out of the situation.

The sound of pounding hooves in the distance from the direction of Gretna grew louder. He climbed atop the side of the coach, which now faced the sky, and wrenched open the door. The coach shuddered, practically destroyed and totally empty.

“What the hell?” Had she climbed out and hidden? A good idea. He unhitched the team, slapped their rumps, and hoped they would continue running until they reached the castle. Returning to Satan, he pulled his stallion’s head close. “Run, boy. Keep hidden. If I do not whistle for you find the others.”

He slapped his stallion’s rump and the black beast flew toward Castle Bradan. Gazing at the soggy snow-covered lane while hailstones continued to slam against the coach and his head, tiny footprints gave him hope. He grabbed a broken tree branch covered with pine cones and needles and brushed his tracks into nothingness, as he followed her trail.

The hoof beats grew louder and closer. As he hurried around a bend in the lane, slow enough to cover their tracks, he felt inside his boot. The softness of the velvet pouch soothed his fingers and his mind.

“Thank goodness I did not place you with my extra clothing.”

He came upon a high wall built of loose fieldstones rising like the battlements of his grandfather’s castle. Had she found her way to the barrier? The tracks said yes. She must have climbed over and he hoped she had not injured herself.

He threw the branch up and over, then shoved the toes of his boots into small open crevices between the stones. Heaving himself up, he toppled to the snowy ground, before the riders slid to a stop, shouting at the carnage that was once Adele’s coach.
